Réponse : We have been able to witness a decline of child labour in the world the past few years namely thanks to the work of organizations such as UNICEF. Unfortunately children are still being used in some severe forms of child labour. Poverty is often cited as the main cause driving children into the workplace. But this is not the only reason why child labour persists. In some countries governments do not provide compulsory, free and accessible education. By not going to school this encourages the vicious cycle of poverty. Children’s rights are also not always respected. The past few years, big brands such as Nike or H&M have been accused of using child labour because it’s cheap labour. Moreover consumers are always seeking for cheap products and it encourages brands to employ children to make these products. Child labour is a global problem that requires a global solution.
