Tu dois utiliser le past continuous (= past en BE + V-ing) pour dire ce qui s'est passé....
1- I was making phone calls all evening.
2- I was waiting in the rain for half an hour.
3- I was making sandwiches all afternoon.
4- I was sitting in a traffic jam for two hours.
5- My neighbour was playing loud music all night.
