The child begins to touch and move objects. The child moves his limbs with action with pleasure on the care he is receiving or when he is not satisfied with something. In the first month, the baby stays asleep most of the time, apparently responding to the voices of his parents and enjoying listening to them in their waking hours. The child may cry to attract parents' attention or to express discomfort, and is able to recognize the features of his parents and prefer them over others.
