Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., more simply called Joe Biden, is an American politician born in 1942. He was the Vice President of the United States under Barack Obama. During his long career, Joe Biden has held many prestigious positions: Senator since 1973, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee between 1987 and 1995, professor of constitutional law at Widener University ...

The politician has also twice participated in the Democratic primary elections ahead of the presidential elections of the United States. In 1988, he lost for the first time to Michael Dukakis (who himself was beaten by George Bush in the race for the White House). In 2008, Joe Biden ran into the Democratic Party primaries. This time, it is Barack Obama who wins and who will become some time later the 44th President of the United States. Despite this, Barack Obama chooses Joe Biden as running mate. After the victory against John McCain, the senator from Delaware was elected vice-president of the United States in November 2008. After the re-election of the American president in 2012, Joe Biden was chosen to honor a second term in the White House.

On the private side, Joe Biden had three children, born of his union with Neilia Hunter. She was the victim of a fatal car accident, with one of their granddaughter, a few days before Christmas 1972. He remarried in 1977 to Jill Tracy Jacobs, with whom he had a daughter.
