Yes, I would like to stay in a host family because if you stay in a host family, you don't have to pay as much money as loaning a house and it would be beneficial for your language practice when staying with local people as you have to speak with them every day and if you stay at the same house, you would need to ask them about things and can speak with them as much as you want. It would be good for food as well because generally you can eat with them as they cook and learn about their food culture and how their food is. So it would be mostly beneficial to the one staying in a host family.
