Explications:

It was in 1620, a ship called Mayflower came to America. There was a group of about one hundred people on the ship. They were called the Pilgrims and they came from England.

In England they couldn't have their own church, so they decided to go to America to build their own church. They arrived in winter and it was very cold. The Pilgrims didn't have food and they were very hungry.

Many of them got sick and died . It was a terrible time for them. After winter Indians came to visit them. The Natives were friendly .

The Indians brought seeds and showed the Pilgrims how to plant corn. After that the Pilgrims started to build their new life: they cut down trees, built houses and hunted wild turkey.

Fall came again. But then the Pilgrims had alot of food for the winter, they had houses, so they were safe. They made a big dinner and invited the Indians to eat with them.

The feast lasted for three days. They ate, turkey, corn, potatoes and pumpkin. That was the first Thanksgiving in America and the Pilgrims were thankful for all the things they had.
