1. Water covers most of the Earth’s surface.
Phrase au présent. Passif : « BE » au présent + participe passé
is covered
==> Most of the Earth’s surface is covered by water.
2. She’s posting this letter this afternoon.
Phrase au présent « be » + ing. Passif : « BE » au présent « be » + ing + participe passé
is being posted
==> This letter is being posted by her this afternoon.
3. They will eat lots of vegetables today.
Phrase au futur ( will ) . Passif : « BE » au futur + participe passé
will be eaten
==> Lots of vegetables will be eaten by them today.
4. Did you accuse me of skipping school?
Phrase au prétérit . Passif : « BE » au prétérit + participe passé
was + accused
Cette phrase est à la forme interrogative, on peut la mettre directement à la voix passive, forme interrogative. Pour être sûr de ne pas faire d’erreur, je te conseille de la mettre à la forme affirmative :
forme affirmative / voix active —> You accused me of skipping school.
forme affirmative / voix passive —> I was accused by you of skipping school.
- tu n’as plus qu’à la mettre à la forme interrogative , passive:
==> Was I accused by you of skipping school?
5. He ’s completely forgotten his homework.
Phrase au présent perfect. Passif : « BE » au présent perfect + participe passé
has been forgotten
==> His homework bas been completely forgotten by him.
6. You can ask the teacher for some extra-work.
Phrase avec le modal « can » . Passif : « BE » avec le même modal + participe passé
can be asked
==> The teacher can be asked for extra-homework.
7. They were going to buy this house.
Phrase au prétérit « be » + ing. Passif : « BE » au prétérit « be » + ing + participe passé.
==> This house was going to be bought by them.
8. The airport didn’t cancel my flight.
Phrase au prétérit. Passif : « BE » au prétérit + participe passé
was cancelled
Ici, phrase négative donc : wasn’t cancelled
==> My flight wasn’t canceled by the airport.
9. They must remember my name forever!
Phrase avec le modal « must » . Passif : « BE » avec le même modal + participe passé
==> My name must be remembered by them forever!
10. The teacher doesn’t speak Dutch in her class.
Phrase au présent. Passif: « BE » au présent + participe passé
is spoken
Ici, phrase négative donc : isn’t spoken
==> Dutch isn’t spoken by the teacher in her class.
