1) The US presidential election is very important because it is the future of the country. It is the decision of the people. and that decision is very important because it will show their future and it will change the country forever.

2) The consequences could be different:

    a) The person who lost could be frustrated and could accuse the winner     from cheating.  

     b) A state could count more votes than there actually is, to make someone vote unfairly.

Example:  The state of New York has 100,000 people living there. But they have received 200,000 votes. (this is an example)
