Complétons le texte avec les verbes au prétérit:

John and I went at Trafalgar square at 12.30, we threw hot dogs from a street vendor ( we paid four dollars). Then we met for a walk in  Central Park and at the lake, we bought some bread crumbs to the ducks.

After, I visited his cousin's flat: Wow !!! It was great and it had a fantastic view on  Central Park. This flat probably cost more than $1 million !

Suddenly, my phone rang : it was my sister. She wanted to wish me a happy birthday.  We talked for 30 minutes, then I hung up.

Before I left the flat, John insisted on inviting me to the restaurant for dinner.  I accepted, we chose an Italian restaurant on Broadway, booked a table for 8pm.  We said goodbye and I went back home.

In the evening, I took a taxi to the restaurant, but when I came in,  I saw my sister sitting at a table with John and my husband. How surprising! They all  stand up and sang "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" to me...
