The Golden Temple is a holy place of WORSHIP. It is located in the Indian city of AMRITSAR in the state of PUNJAB. It has FOUR entrances in the North, East, South and West ( indicating that people from all 4 corners of the Earth are welcome here and are permitted to enter ). It is made out of MARBLE and COPPER but it is covered with layer of GOLD FOIL. The water that surrounds the Golden Temple is known as THE POOL OF NECTAR and the water of the pool is said to have SPECIAL PROPERTIES ! ( = miraculous powers ). Inside the temple, there is a large COMMUNITY KITCHEN. On holidays or religious occasions, it serves up to 100,000 free hot meals every day. Diners come and sit down on the floor and are served by TEMPLE VOLUNTEERS.
